In AlienVault USM Appliance the TokuDB engine was introduced in order to improve database performance. If the USM Appliance setup menu is still showing you the option for upgrading the AlienVault database, even after it has been updated, we should check to see if a database update is needed.
To verify that we have the database updated (using TokuDB engine), we can execute the next instructions:

mysql> use alienvault_siem;
mysql> show table status;
We should see some tables like acid_event and extra_data using the TokuDB engine, as shown in the next example:
If your tables are using TokuDB like the example, a database update is not necessary. If not, please update your database according to the instructions in Updating the AlienVault USM Database Engine.
