Known Issue: Scheduled Reports Fail After Upgrading to 5.4

Description

In USM Appliance version 5.4, AlienVault added a new field, File Type, for running or scheduling reports. You can choose either PDF or XLSX. The default value is PDF. See How to Run Reports for details.

For USM Appliance upgrading to version 5.4, this field is added but not set, causing previously scheduled reports to fail.

Workaround

AlienVault has reproduced this behavior internally and plans to include a fix for this issue in the 5.4.2 release. In the meantime, you can set this value manually.

To set file type for scheduled reports:

  1. From the USM Appliance web interface, go to Reports > All Reports, and then click Scheduler.
  2. Click the pencil icon (pencil icon) for the report you want to modify.
  3. After the page loads, notice that the File Type defaults to PDF. Switch to XLSX if desired.
  4. Click Modify Scheduler.
  5. Repeat this for every report you have scheduled.
