Editing Users

There are a number of items that you can modify for the account of another user. If a user is unable to log in because they forgot their password or no longer have an authentication mobile device, you can perform a reset for their account.

Note: Only users having a role of Manager can edit users.

To reset a password account

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. The Users List page displays the list of user accounts in USM Central.

  3. Click the icon next to the user account you want to edit.
  4. Note: You are not allowed to change the Email address for the account.

  5. Change the Full Name for the account.
  6. Click Send Password Reset.
  7. The user will receive an email with a link that allows him to change the password.

    Note: The Enable Multi-Factor Authentication checkbox is active if you are editing your own user account. See Multi-Factor Authentication for more information.

  8. Click Save.

To edit an Analyst or Read-Only user's deployment access

  1. Go to Settings > Users.
  2. The Users List page displays the list of user accounts in USM Central.

  3. Click the icon next to the user account you want to edit.
  4. In the Edit User window, in the Deployments section, click the button related to the settings you want to apply.
    • Click All Deployments if you want the user to have visibility over all connected deployments.
    • Click Select Deployments if you want to designate specific deployments.
  5. If you click the Select Deployments button, the connected deployments will display below.

    Check the box for each of the deployments you want the user to have access to.

  6. Click Save.

To edit your own settings

  1. Click the icon and select My Settings.
  2. Note: You are not allowed to change the Email address for the account.

  3. Change the Full Name for the account.
  4. Click Send Password Reset.
  5. The user will receive an email with a link that allows him to change the password.

  6. Select the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication checkbox if you want to add this authentication. See Multi-Factor Authentication for more information.
  7. Click Save.
