Using IP Reputation Data to Stay Ahead of the Threat

Cyber attacks are constantly increasing in both frequency and sophistication. In this atmosphere, accurate and timely threat intelligence is essential. In this webinar, we will share details on a recent real-world test IANS conducted comparing threat intelligence approaches. Specifically, IANS evaluated the AlienVault Open Threat Exchange (AV-OTX™), which is a system for sharing threat intelligence among OSSIM users and AlienVault customers, and compared this approach to traditional signature-based IDS approaches. One of the critical dimensions of the AV-OTX intelligence is the aggregation and dissemination of an IP reputation database that enables enterprises to supplement their existing event detection efforts to benefit from the events detected by other participants. Attend this presentation to hear about the experimental parameters of that project and the resulting raw data. You will walk away with recommendations on how to increase security monitoring performance in a simple, cost-effective way.
